Happy Valentine's Day!

Theo was aware a tie was optional for dinner, but he insisted on looking his best.  Mom worked very hard preparing a dinner of Cioppino (her gift to dad) and strawberry cupcakes (a gift to herself).

Philadelphia received quite a bit of snow over the past week.  While this was not Theo's first snowstorm, it was the first he didn't sleep through.  He enjoyed watching the snow from the comfort of our apartment.  

After a half hour, Theo decided he was big enough to brave the storm outside.  Even though the snow appeared higher than he is tall, Daddy reassured him he would keep him high off the ground and safe.   So we bundled up and headed out.

We made it about 1/2 a block before Theo decided going back home and having hot chocolate sounded like a better idea.  Even though it was short lived, Theo enjoyed the winter wonderland and was so happy his grandma and great grandpa were there to experience it with him (and it kept them here an extra day to play with Theo!).

4 month check up

Theo has passed the 4 month mark and has grown quite a bit (including some hair!).

Theo is now 26 1/8 inches tall (95th percentile) and weighs 16.1 lbs (75th percentile).  He received 4 shots (!!) at his appt. and was informed he will be getting a shot every appt. for the next year and a half!  I think he took this news a little better than mom did.  The doctor also told us Theo was ready to start eating solid foods.  We immediately bought some baby oatmeal and tried it out.  As Theo puts anything and everything in his mouth, we were a little surprised when he rejected the spoon.  Needless to say, Theo was not thrilled with the oatmeal.

Our friends invited us over for dinner and, as you can see, Theo and Leila were very excited about meeting eachother.

They did get some alone time, but I think they were both playing hard to get.

Dinner was delicious and the company was even better. Theo looks forward to future (play)dates!

Road Trip

For the New Year, we bundled Theo up, rented a car, and set out on the road toward Florida.  We thought the Carolinas would be a bit warmer, but Theo felt quite differently.

But once he arrived in Florida, the weather was nice, and he managed to get some time in the sun picking oranges with Dad to make fresh squeezed juice.  Of course, part of vacation is relaxation and there is no better spot.

But the best part of the vacation for Theo was being surrounded by so many people who loved him and showered him with  attention.
